What a fantastic way to celebrate Lower Hutt’s 70th. The band “Wild Heather” consisting of Lynne Scott, Anne-Marie Forsyth, Mary McDonald and Sharlene Penman certainly gave us music that made you want to dance. That and having a full hall of dancers made a real buzz. Having at least 20 of our past members come and share in this event made it very special. The backdrop of our club badge with a sparkling 70 was made by John Gregory and set the stage.
A big thank you to all club members who helped in setting up the hall. It is amazing what can happen in 1 hour. The hall was certainly transformed. Having such a popular programme compiled by Andrea and Chris enticed many dancers from the Wellington Region to join us and it was great to see other dancers travel from further afield – Napier, Manawatu, Whanganui and the Wairarapa.
The dance Platinum Years was a real success. Some tutors want to put it on their formal programmes next year.
Summer School 2024/25
Summer School 2024/25 is being held in Wellington. What an opportunity to dance with people from overseas as well as around NZ. This is a very special event on our doorstep. They are encouraging JAM members to attend. Those of us who are over 20 are very welcome too.
